A lawyer is both an “attorney and counselor at law.” Since she joined Glasgow & Olsson in 2009, Ms. Olsson has repeatedly demonstrated a mastery of both these traits that every top attorney has. She has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star again this year, a prestigious award given to outstanding attorneys under 40.

Many family law cases have an emotional component that is as significant as the legal and factual components. Ms. Olsson is extremely compassionate and understands this dynamic better than most lawyers. In addition to achieving success in the courtroom, she always strives to help clients build stronger families and better lives, with great success.

Ms. Olsson displays many of these same traits in DUI defense matters, specifically with regard to drivers’ license reinstatement. In Illinois, this process is much more cumbersome and involved than it is in most other states. On top of aggressive representation at both DUI trials and Secretary of State license reinstatement hearings (she is a published author in this area), Ms. Olsson takes the time to explain the entire process to clients. This additional service is something that many other law firms do not provide, and it adds to her successful track record in this area.

Our Conversation

Communication is the foundation of every good attorney-client relationship. At Glasgow & Olsson, we believe that the communication begins with some basic answers to some basic questions.

What led you into your career in law?

I have always had an interest in representing men, women, and young adults in their times of need. In a sprawling area like Chicagoland that is so diverse, it is important for everyone to have someone they can rely on to navigate a complex legal system. This is my passion, and why I do what I do.

What is the most rewarding thing about your practice?

It is hard to pick one thing, but I would have to say that the most rewarding part of my practice is guiding a once-dependent spouse to independence through his or her divorce process.

How will your law practice change in the next five years?

We are proud to announce that Glasgow & Olsson will be significantly expanding our presence at the Daley Center.

What separates Glasgow & Olsson from other Chicago law firms?

Our communication with our clients builds trust, which is the cornerstone of any relationship. We also pride ourselves on our accountability. We do not make excuses. Effective follow through and prompt responses on major issues are very important, as well.

Why has the firm been so successful?

Glasgow & Olsson maintains an unwavering commitment to fighting for our clients’ rights and interests.

Talk about your efforts in the community.

I personally give generously to fight hunger among families in the Northwest suburbs and to the ethical treatment of animals in the state. In terms of pro bono legal work, we represent a number of people who do not have the funds to hire lawyers. Sometimes, these individuals really just need a resource person, and so we point them in the right direction.
